Global Seed Savers team, led by Elizabeth Martin, recently hosted a Seeds Inventory and Tracking System (SITS) monitoring meeting with the Benguet Association of Seed Savers (BASS) in Tublay. This meeting helped monitor and inventory the seeds of BASS members, ensuring the preservation of our agricultural heritage.
Through our SITS monitoring program, GSS and BASS are not just cataloging seeds; we are safeguarding the very essence of local farming traditions. By visiting and carefully documenting the seeds of BASS members, this initiative supports local communities to take ownership of their agricultural legacy. Every seed inventoried is a testament to resilience, seed sovereignty, and the power of community action.
