Week of April 29 - May 5, 2024

Be Transformed by Christ - See Transformation for Christ

UPCOMING DATES

Generations Sunday & College Graduate Recognition

This Sunday, May 5, will be Generations Sunday as multiple ages lead in worship. These days are always encouraging when we see a big picture of the Body of Christ as different generations lead and serve together. Also, we will recognize college graduates at the end of the service. Don't miss this special day!

VBS LEADER & CHILD REGISTRATION LINK

VBS Planning Lunch

Vacation Bible School is coming June 10-14, and we want to take full advantage of this opportunity to reach the next generation with the Truth of the Gospel! Join us on Sunday, May 5, after the worship service as we dive into the details of our VBS time this summer. We'll enjoy lunch together and coordinate our efforts as we look forward to welcoming in our community. Also, click the button to register as a leader or register a child to attend!

High School Senior Letters

We will honor our graduating high school seniors on Sunday, May 19. In the lead-up, we want to offer you the opportunity to write letters of encouragement and prayers to our graduates. These can be turned in to Crystal Gilley in the church office no later than Sunday, May 12. Please return them in a sealed envelope with the senior's name on the front. Thank you in advance for supporting our seniors!

55+ Adult Birthday Party & Cookout

All adults 55+ are invited to join us for a birthday party on Tuesday, May 14, at 5:30 PM. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall. It will be a great time of grilling and fellowship!

Darkness to Light Training

If you missed the training on Sunday, we will offer another opportunity for Darkness to Light child abuse training on Wednesday, May 15, at 6 PM in Fellowship Hall. Church policy requires all volunteers who work with children and youth to complete the Darkness to Light training. If you have not completed the training in the past three years, please make plans to join us. Sign up with crystal.gilley@tabernacle.org by May 8.

Property Work Day

Many Hands Make Light Work! We will have a Property Work Day on Saturday, May 18 at 8 AM. We have many projects that we need to accomplish on the outside of our church. We will be working in the pavilion area, the barn area, and cleaning up around the back road area. Work gloves, rakes, shovels, loppers (clippers), pruning shears, and blowers will be needed for these projects. Cold water will be provided for all that come throughout the work day, and at noon, we will have pizza, soft drinks, and dessert in the pavilion. This is a family event, so bring everyone and spend a day as we beautify our church grounds.

Hymn Sing & Ice Cream

Join us on Sunday, May 19, at 5 PM in the Chapel for an old-fashioned hymn sing. There will be no set program and anyone can call out their favorite hymn. The only rule is that it must be in the hymnal. It will be a great night as we raise our voices in worship while we sing the great hymns of our faith. After the singing, we will enjoy ice cream together in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite homemade (or store-bought) ice cream flavor. The church will provide the paper goods, drinks, and toppings. Invite your family and friends to join us!

Michael O'Brien Concert

We will host guest artist Michael O'Brien on Sunday, June 2, in morning worship and for a full concert at 5 PM. Michael has an incredible voice and is known for his various recordings and for his time as the lead singer in the group Newsong. More information can be found about Michael at https://michaelo.org/. In addition to his gifts as a musician, he has an incredible testimony and shares the Gospel clearly as he ministers in Christ's name. Tickets will not be required for the 5 PM concert, but an offering will be taken to help offset costs. Invite your friends to this awesome night of worship!

BY THE NUMBERS

Giving Information

Thank you for your faithful giving that allows our church to do meaningful ministry in our community! You may drop off gifts during regular office hours (Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM-5:30 PM or Friday, 8:30 AM-1 PM). You may also give in person during the worship service, mail your gift, give online on our website, text "tabernacle150" to 73256, or give on Venmo at https://venmo.com/u/tabernaclebaptist.

Worship Center Organ Fund

We are officially beginning to focus on our Worship Center organ fund. You may be aware that our analog instrument from the 1980s needs to be replaced with a digital instrument because we are continuing to see a decline in functionality, sound quality, and parts from that era of technology are no longer being made. Currently, $27,025 has been given to the fund. Our organ selection team, who has been working on this project for the past two years, has selected a builder for our next instrument with a ballpark cost of $280,000. You will be hearing more information about this in the future, but please consider making a gift so that our worship ministry can continue to lead with excellence for generations to come. Gifts in honor or memory of a loved one are encouraged. For any questions, please contact james.kimmel@tabernacle.org.
