BLACK AUTHORS BOOK FAIR

SATURDAY - MAY 4 - 12:00PM

Quentesa Pierce and Western Boulevard Presbyterian Church is elated to host the 2nd Annual Black Authors Book Fair (BABF)! This event aims to encourage culturally competent curriculums and to celebrate Black literacy and representation by featuring local authors of African descent. #representationmatters

The BABF will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, both indoors and outdoors, at 4900 Kaplan Drive Raleigh, NC 27606. Admission is FREE. Attendees are encouraged to support vendors monetarily by purchasing their products and services. Save the date! Spread the word!

We will celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Sunday in our worship services that day.

As part of the morning worship service, we will receive those in the confirmation class as members of the church.

YOUTH CARWASH

SATURDAY - JUNE 1 - 10:00AM

Is your car in need of a good wash? (If you’ve been driving through the construction zone on the Beltline recently, chances are it does!) Stop by WBPC on Saturday June 1st between 10 am and 2 pm and get your car shining like new and support Granny’s Purse in the process. Our youth will be raising funds for our summer mission work and retreats by washing cars in the church parking lot. While the car wash is free, donations are greatly appreciated. You are changing the lives of others by letting us wash your car!

75TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

SUNDAY - JUNE 2 - 10:30AM

Mark your calendars now and plan on attending this special day in the life of Western Boulevard Presbyterian Church! We will have a special worship service at 10:30am in the sanctuary, and then a catered luncheon outside under tents starting at 12:00pm. Many past friends of WBPC, including pastors, staff, members and family will be joining us. And check out the display table in the narthex on Sundays with pictures and mementos that recall our past 75 years of ministry (many thanks to Marcia Bennett for sharing these). We look forward to seeing you then!

GRADUATION SUNDAY

SUNDAY - JUNE 9 - 10:30AM

We rejoice in honoring our graduating High School and College seniors, as well as those earning graduate degrees! If you know of anyone in our church family who is a graduate, please send a note to admin@wbpresbyterian.org with their name, degree, the school from which they are graduating, and any future plans. We need this information by May 28.We will recognize these graduates at the June 9 worship service. They are invited to wear their caps and gowns to the service. The CE committee invites the congregation to join us for a reception in the graduates’ honor to be held in the Columbarium immediately after the worship service.
