Safe Passage's Violence Prevention Curriculum for Youth
The Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts is providing evaluation services to Safe Passage for their Say Something Youth Initiative. This initiative is a violence prevention program for teens, which was adapted from Safe Passage’s adult curriculum as part of a MA Department of Public Health-funded partnership with Community Action and Easthampton Public Schools. We have been working with Safe Passage to collect, summarize, and use data gathered during their successful implementation of the curriculum among 9th-grade students at Easthampton High School this past Fall and Winter. The data collected will help Safe Passage better understand how they can improve their program and the impact on the students who participated.
