Cleaning up the house the other day, I came upon a bottle of hand sanitizer that was nearly empty, which triggered memories of 2020 when hand sanitizer was literally a precious commodity. Four years later, I still view hand sanitizer differently than I did before the pandemic, which got me thinking about some of my patients who have complicated relationships with previously restricted foods long after the restriction ended.
