Sundowner’s Beach Bar really knows how to throw an epic parrhhhtay!
On 27th May, Sundowner’s celebrated its 20th anniversary marking two decades of unforgettable beachside fun. For twenty years, this iconic bar has been a thriving hub, attracting both tourists and locals whilst maintaining its status as the longest-running and most successful establishment in West End, and indeed on the entire island of Roatan. And, here’s the thing, they pulled off a celebration that will forever be etched in attendees memories.
From its humble beginning as a one-level, simple construction hut with a sand floor, Sundowner’s has blossomed into a two-story Caribbean-style open-sided bar, nestled along the breathtaking Half Moon Bay.
For the said celebration, envision yourself there: picture-perfect sand beach, crystal-clear blue waters, a radiant sun shining overhead, and a cool tropical breeze – the setting couldn’t be more idyllic. OK, OK, so the gentle breeze may have taken a day off and revelers were a sweaty mess, but that didn’t dampen the party spirit. In fact, it fueled the heat of excitement as everyone danced their flip-flops off to the Island’s finest musicians and bands.
But wait, let’s talk about the stage for the performers – it was nothing short of spectacular. A catamaran moored just offshore elevating the beach bash to a whole new level. As the sun set and the moon rose, the stage continued to be the beacon of attention.
The impressive lineup of performers was simply fantastic, showcasing the very best of Roatan’s music scene. From Latin rock to pop and upbeat Caribbean medleys, the musicians seamlessly switched out equipment, ensuring a continuous flow of sounds that had the crowd on their feet. The air was filled with infectious rhythms, and the atmosphere rocked with energy.
Just as you thought it couldn’t get any better, then fireworks happened! The star-spangled sky was lit up with colorful explosions leaving the partiers gazing upward at the display. Simply breathtaking!
Sundowner’s Beach Bar’s 20th-anniversary celebration was a testament to their unwavering commitment to providing their customers with the time of their lives and unforgettable experiences. Twenty years of music, drinks, beachside fun, drinks, good pub grub, drinks, and yet more drinks.

At the beginning of the month, our Intrepid leader, Ana Flores, chaired the Keller Williams Roatan monthly sales meeting. The team always celebrates successes, shares tips, tactics and targets, sets key objectives, and discusses encountered challenges and victories.

There are some people amongst us that would opt to run 21 kilometers in blistering heat, which is mind-boggling to the rest of us! However, for those that do thrive on challenge, pain, and muscle fatigue, then 23rd September is the day for you!
There is a marathon, starting at Paradise Beach Club, West Bay, and finishing in the town center, Coxen Hole (obviously with loops, detours, laps and meanderings to make up the mileage), that participants from all over Central America can participate in. Runners can choose between the easy 5K, the hardcore 10K or the full-on grueling 21K.
Just a mere $25 for entering the race with proceeds from local entrants (minus expenses) being given to the Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries – an orphanage that homes and cares for 22 Island children (you may remember that they are KW Roatan’s charity of choice and recipients of the RED Day special day).
This is the 4th year this race has been hosted by Roatan, seeing over 200 participants last year. The event is gaining popularity so the goal this year is to increase that number significantly. The race consists of different categories: men and women, local and non-island. Every participant who completes the race will receive a well-deserved medal, while the top three finishers from each category will be presented with a trophy.
KW Roatan is proudly sponsoring the 20 entrants from the Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries. Some members of the KW Roatan team will be cheering on the runners, who will be sporting our distinctive logo on their running shirts, at the finish line.
