Happy Arbor Day, Woodridge!

In celebration of Arbor Day, The Village of Woodridge Public Works Team and ComEd visited kindergarteners at Goodrich Elementary School to talk about trees and staying safe around fallen power lines!

Did you know the Village of Woodridge has also been named a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation for 33 consecutive years? This recognition reflects the Village’s continued commitment and investment in its urban tree canopy. This award has also been useful in helping the Village receive grant funds from the National Forestry Service for tree inventory and tree planting activities. Currently, Woodridge is home to 10,000 parkway trees!

Illinoisans Can Now Get Documents Notarized Without Leaving Home

Illinoisans who want documents notarized can now do so without leaving their homes. The new Electronic-Notary service, administered by the Illinois Secretary of State's Office, will allow individuals and businesses to conduct notarizations electronically. During the process, electronic signatures are used and notaries remotely attach a certificate and seal to forms. Customers will be required to have an audio-video communication platform for E-Notary and to show ID. Notaries will check a client’s identity by looking at their ID. They’ll also review the document and verify the customer’s name matches the one on the forms. Fees may apply but they are capped at $25 for electronic notarizations. To look up a notary who provides remote services, go to apps.ilsos.gov/notarysearch.
