UCS expands Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program into Northshire region starting May 1:

United Counseling Service (UCS)’s outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program will expand to the Manchester, VT, region on May 1, building on their services based in Bennington, VT. The goal of UCS’ MAT program is to meet the growing need for substance use disorder treatment services in Bennington County.

Enrollment applications are open at Head Start/Early Head Start:

Head Start/Early Head Start is now accepting applications for children ages six weeks to five years for summer enrollment and the 2024-2025 school year at its locations in North Bennington, Bennington, and Pownal, VT. Enrollment in Head Start includes expanded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility, new community-based slots, childcare financial assistance, bus transportation, and a pre-kindergarten partnership with the Southwestern Vermont Supervisory Union.

UCS joins Alliance for Community Transformation's Take Care Project:

Our community partner, Alliance for Community Transformations (ACT), leads an initiative called the Take Care Project, which aims to expand access to free period products and hygiene essentials in the Bennington region. ACT empowered UCS to get involved in the program, and now the agency provides free menstrual products for visitors at its 100 Ledge Hill Drive and Children, Youth and Family Services location at 314 Dewey Street.

Human Resources:

• Human Resources Specialist: Support the Human Resources team with onboarding, employee relations, workforce development and training, oversight of the electronic HR system, and compensation and benefits administration.

Developmental Services:

• Direct Support Professional (2nd shift residential): Make a difference in the lives of others by helping adults with developmental disabilities reach their goals and develop relationships in their communities. DSPs help clients with self-care, money management, dining, problem solving, interpersonal relationships, leisure time, independent living, and community engagement. 

Facilities and Safety:

• Maintenance Worker: Support the Facilities and Safety team with building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, heating, carpentry, and repairs.

Early Childhood Services:

• Behavior Interventionist (Spring Center): Provide behavioral support and case management to Head Start children and their families to help strengthen connections between home, school and community.
