According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), COVID-19 was the third most prevalent cause of death in the state of North Dakota in 2021. An examination of commonly recognized differentiating factors in COVID-19 mortality (age, race, gender, and the preexistence of comorbid health conditions) revealed that COVID-19 mortality varied across those factors.
