8th Sunday after Pentecost

Sermon Title: "A Pattern for Prayer"

Sacred Text: Luke 11:5-13

Worship (in-person and online): 11:15 AM

A Word from Rev. Renae
There are many books written on prayer, from how to pray, what to pray, as well as prayers already written for you to pray. In our scripture we find Jesus gives the disciples and us a blueprint for prayer by sharing what we know as the Lord’s Prayer. Then he goes a step further and gives us some insight on our prayer life by sharing a story. On Sunday we will look at Jesus’ advice for our prayer life and how it can strengthen our faith journey. See you Sunday!

Blessings,
Rev. Renae
Safety Protocols for In-person Worship
Masks are optional for all those fully-vaccinated. If you have not been fully-vaccinated, we ask that you please continue to wear your mask.

In terms of physical contact, please be sensitive and respect everyone's personal wishes.

If you don't feel well, we ask you to please stay home. This includes fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
Upcoming Activities
Join us in the Fellowship Hall each Sunday from 10:30-11 am for coffee and refreshments! If it's your week to bring something to share, our Hospitality Team would greatly appreciate it.
Between now and August 14th, we are collecting school supplies for Bay Point Elementary, one of the elementary schools in our area.

Here's the list of supplies they are looking for:

Crayons
Colored Pencil
Spiral notebooks
Composition notebooks
Glue sticks
Copy paper (no lined paper needed)
Tissues
Pencils

Mark your calendars. Tax Free Days are July 25th-August 7th. All school supplies can be purchased without tax, so you could throw a few more things in there if you wanted.

You can drop your donations off on Sundays when you are here for worship or during the week Monday-Thursday, 9 am-5 pm. If you have any more questions about this, please email melanie@churchstpetersburg.org. Also, if you would just like to donate financially, without the hassle of going to the store, you can give in the offering plate and just write "School Supply Drive" on the envelope or on your check.
On Sunday, July 31st, we will take up a special Benevolence Offering. The monies raised this month will go to collect needed school supplies for Bay Point Elementary School. If you would like to participate in this, just write "Benevolence" on the envelope or on your check. If you have any other questions, email revlorraine@churchstpetersburg.org.
The time has come for us to begin putting together a Pastoral Search Team and start the work of finding our next Settled Pastor. The team will be made up of 3 members of the Board of Directors and 4 elected members of the congregation.

If you feel called to serve on this team, we ask that you prayerfully consider the time commitment with the understanding that the process may take 6 months or longer. You need to have been a member in good standing for at least 1 year as of August 1, 2022.

The application is available here. Questions may be directed to Ian Gomez or Rev. Renae.

Once completed, please return the application to IAN GOMEZ, Vice Moderator, in person or to Melanie Vannozzi (melanie@churchstpetersburg.org) by email by AUGUST 14, 2022.

This is a very important time in helping create the next chapter of King of Peace. Even if you are not feeling called to be on this team, start praying now for those who are, and for all those who will apply to be our next Pastor. God has great things in store for us, and our next Senior Pastor is already out there waiting!
If you need a time to pause the busyness, and have some intentional prayer and praise...join Jeremiah (virtually) for First Wednesday Worship on August 3rd at 7 pm on our Facebook page. We'll sing and pray together. It's definitely a good time to commune with God and with one another.
Join King of Peace for our monthly Breakfast Club on the 2nd Thursday of each month. We meet at 9 am at Parkside Cafe (8180 49th St. N., Pinellas Park). This is a great way to get the day started, and have conversation with some others from KoP.
Save the date for a special Congregational Meeting on Sunday, August 28th immediately following worship. We will elect members to the Pastoral Search Team, and hear an update from the Board of Directors on how we are doing after our move to Lakewood. Only members will be able to vote, but everyone can participate in the meeting.
Do you know of anyone within our congregation who might need some congregational care or for us to offer their name in prayer during Sunday service? If so, please email revlorraine@churchstpetersburg.org.
