How to Protect Yourself from Popular Imposter Scams
|
By: Raj Sharma Head of Information Security, VP, Northern Bank
Sent on behalf of Michele Fitzpatrick, 1031 Exchange Relationship Manager, VP, Northern Bank
An imposter scam occurs when an individual, or a group of people, trick victims into sending money or providing confidential information. Your confidential information is then used to steal your money or identity.
Imposter scams are conducted using various methods. A phone call used to be the most popular but has since been replaced with emails and texts.

Message From Executive Director Lynn Harkin
|
|
|
Ask an Associate, Colleague or Vendor to Join FEA Today!
Membership numbers have been either stagnant or declining over the last several years. We had 156 members in 2016 and we will close 2021 with 133 members.
The best and most impactful message to join FEA comes from someone who is already a member – YOU!
Send the contact information of your vendors, associates, the companies who are on the other side of an exchange you’re doing, and any company doing exchanges in your area to Lynn Harkin director@1031.org so we can invite them to join FEA.
We need people and financial resources to remain The Voice of the 1031 Industry.

Threats to Section 1031 Like-Kind Exchanges
|
|
The FEA 1031PAC contributes to Members of Congress of both political parties. The FEA 1031PAC is funded by eligible individual employees. To become eligible, individuals must be employed by FEA member companies that have filed a Permission to Solicit form. A Permission to Solicit form is required by the Federal Election Commission before FEA can solicit eligible employees of member companies.
Member companies are only permitted to grant one trade association permission to solicit their employees per calendar year. Contact Lynn Harkin at director@1031.org for more information.
FEA Member Key Contacts can find a Permission to Solicit Form here.
