Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.

Happy Friday, Folks -
And what a day it is - Snow! Hail! Thunder! Lightning!
I love this weather. Not the best for the ol' tennis game but a fun change overall. Certainly keeping it interesting. Just make sure you stay warm and safe out there....
We received the report back from our holiday food drive for the SF/Marin Food Bank. In total over the holidays Harbor Point members & residents donated 345 pounds of food to our fitness center lobby bins. Well done! It all helped the Food Bank in their work of supporting 55,000 families in Marin and SF put food on the table. Read more about the SF Marin Food Bank by CLICKING HERE.

Vic Seixas' Book Makes It to Wimbledon....Finally!
Harbor Point member's Diane Curtis and Peggy Almgren were planning a trip to England, when HP resident, Tom Fields, suggested they bring a few copies of Vic's book, " Prime Time Tennis" to the Kenneth Ritchie Wimbledon Library. Tom provided a couple copies which made it to the hands of Librarian Robert McNicol (seen here with Diane), who was quite pleased to receive them. He was also surprised. How had they not yet acquired a copy of this book written by the 1953 Wimbledon Men's Singles Champion and oldest Grand Slam Champion in the world (and HP Resident!), Vic Seixas? Who knows? At least they have a couple copies now... Thanks to Diane, Peggy and Tom!

Our 2022 Grant Recipients
Each August the Board of Directors of the Harbor Point Foundation review dozens of grant requests submitted by nonprofits throughout the Bay Area. The task is daunting as the grant dollars requested are far more than the funds available, and every organization is providing valuable services.
Here are the grant requests that were approved this year, listed with the organization, their program area and their general purpose. Click on the organization's name to visit their website:
Children4Change (Education) - Collaboration with Other Nonprofits to teach Children to, Act and Advocate
Muttville (Health) - Seniors to Seniors Adoption Program
Screen Sense (Education) - Newsletter informing parents as to safe and secure use of Internet
Several of these organizations were brought to the attention of Board by members of the Harbor Point community, which is truly appreciated. These beneficiaries were honored at a reception hosted by the Foundation in January. In the coming weeks, we will profile each organization.
For more information on our grants program, please CLICK HERE

|
To date, the HPCF has distributed over $4,500,000 in support of over 85 programs that advance our mission, improving the lives of thousands of children and adults in need throughout the Bay Area.

Spiral Studio Marin
Increase Strength and Mobility with Pilates and GYROTONIC Sessions
Harbor Point members (and non-members!) can improve their flexibility and achieve an overall feeling of balance at Carla Daro-Kaliski’s Spiral Studio. Her GYROTONIC and Pilates sessions can stimulate your muscle, skeletal, and nervous systems to increase strength and joint mobilization, as well as decompress the spine, so your whole body experiences greater vitality in a natural way. For beginners and experienced athletes, too.
You’re invited to try a discounted introductory package of 3 lessons, available for just $200. Book online and learn more at www.spiralstudiomarin.com. Reach out with any questions :)
I am loving Gyrotonic, and Carla is just fabulous. It has made me stronger and more flexible from just a few sessions, and is gradually improving the way I sit, stand, and move. Very subtle and pretty amazing stuff.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)
Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
