Spring 2023 Updates

for Community Partners

As we begin a new semester, we want to thank you for your tireless work in supporting our community through the many challenges we have faced as we continue to rebound in the COVID-19 pandemic.

We hope that the information we share in this communication is helpful in considering how you might connect with students, faculty, and other members of the KU community this year. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to us for support.

Event Recap: Pancakes and Partnerships

Thank you to those that participated in our Pancakes and Partnerships event last semester! We enjoyed connecting with you and representatives from across the university community.

If there is a partnership you'd like to follow up on from this event or you have any questions, please let us know!

Helpful Resource:
Service Project Agreement

The CSL has created a service project agreement for students ho are engaged in the community to really think through the logistics and goals of their service experience.

If you're working with a KU student either through a class or through co-curricular volunteering, please encourage them to complete the Service Project Agreement form.

Bookmark our Service Project Agreement.

How Can We Help?

The CSL uses a number of resources to promote opportunities that come to us, including Hire Jayhawks and volunteer.ku.edu. We are happy to promote community programs and opportunities on your behalf!

We would also love to connect you directly with faculty, researchers, student organizations, and more to support meaningful partnerships across our community.

Let us know how we can promote and garner support for your work completing our partnerships and opportunities survey.

Remembering Broderick Crawford, 1961-2022

We are saddened to share that Wyandotte County community activist and friend of the CSL, Broderick Crawford, passed away in late November of 2022. Crawford previously served as president and former executive director of NBC Development Corporation in Kansas City, Kansas, an organization that strives to improve health outcomes in Wyandotte County.

Read about Crawford's Work in the KLC Journal.
