Yael Hass

Charles J. Mantel Memorial Award for Excellence in Judaic Studies and I. James London Memorial Athlete of the Year Award

Yael, you arrived at school each morning with a big smile on your face, and always eager to learn. You brought a lively spirit to our classroom and demonstrated a love of all things Jewish. Each morning you participated in Tefillah with a full spirit, ready to talk to Hashem. You pushed yourself to take apart verses in the Chumash and looked for opportunities to share your Jewish knowledge with your classmates. Yael, you are a great athlete whose talent would shine through with whatever was being done in PE. You have always shown caring and compassion to your fellow classmates that can’t be matched. You have also shown leadership by making sure everyone is involved in class. It is our pleasure to present you with the Charles J Mantel Memorial Award for Excellence in Judaic Studies and with the I. James London Memorial Athlete of the Year Award.

We are pleased to announce that you are the recipient of the Lorna Legum Rising Star Award and the Shirley Helfant and Ruth Josephburg Award for Visual Arts.

Adielle Uduaghan

Strelitz International Academy Distinguished IB Scholar Award, the Hyman I. Stromberg Memorial Award for Academic Excellence, and the Rabbi Philip Pincus Memorial Award for Excellence in Hebrew Studies

Adielle, you came to our school in second grade. You didn’t have any background in Hebrew, but you were very motivated to learn this ancient language. You learned to read Hebrew in about a month and mastered cursive Hebrew in about three weeks. Over the years you kept challenging yourself by memorizing long lists of vocabulary words, by delving into more complex grammar and producing work that demonstrated both great effort and understanding.

Adielle, you are bright, caring and open-minded. Beyond being an excellent student you are also principled and empathetic. You are a student who consistently goes above and beyond your teachers’ expectations, and you exhibit genuine care in all you accomplish. You are a natural leader and have represented our school well in your role as SGA president. We are confident that whatever path you take, you will achieve the goal of the IB Program which is to develop internationally minded individuals who help to create a better, more peaceful world. We are honored to present you with the Strelitz International Academy Distinguished IB Scholar Award, the Rabbi Philip Pincus Memorial Award for Excellence in Hebrew Studies and The Hyman I. Stromberg Memorial Award for Academic Excellence.
