Join LHC for the BIG Event, Wednesday, April 12 from 4:30 to 7 pm. We are excited to welcome featured speaker, Candace Doby, author, podcast host, and coach who works with organizations and communities to create a culture of courage where everyone can perform at their highest potential. Register today to take advantage of early-bird pricing ($100/ticket) through March 21; $75 for retired, student, veteran, and nonprofits with less than 25 employees. Beginning March 22nd, ALL tickets will be $125.

The Leadership Essentials 2023 cohort, comprised of 24 emerging leaders, continues their learning experience; they met virtually in February to discuss Leadership & Teams. Many thanks to Leadership Howard County Premier alum, Kashonna Marrow, LP '17, for leading class members through an engaging discussion on the stages of team development, characteristics of a high-performing team, and a fixed vs. growth mindset. This month, LE participants will get more insight around Effective Communications/ Executive Presence, Leadership Foundations of Equity & Inclusion, and Conflict Management. Whether you’re casting a vote or interested in running for a position, Columbia Association (CA) wants to make sure you have the information you need to get involved in your village board and CA Board elections. The timing is unique and runs from April to May, within the Columbia Association's fiscal cycle. All Villages have their own timeframe and procedures to it's important to be informed. Learn more.

As part of a national network of community leadership programs seeking to equip leaders to show up as the best version of themselves, LHC is excited to, once again, partner with Leadership Louisville and share information about their upcoming thought leadership program - The LeadingBetter Summit on March 9.

LHC and the Horizon Foundation hosted a very informative session about Maryland's 988 Helpline last week. Special thanks to moderator Laura Torres, Howard County General Hospital, and fellow panelists​: Quinita Garrett, Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc., Daniel Rabbitt, Baltimore Regional Integrated Crisis System Partnership​, and ​Glenn Schneider, Horizon Foundation. We encourage members to check out their website for critical information to share with your own networks. Individuals may use the Materials Generator tool found at this site to customize available content to better tailor to specific audiences/individuals. Check it out!


The comment period on proposed legislation to create a new national park, the Chesapeake National Recreation area, has been extended until March 13, 2023 - click here for more details!
