Come Rest Awhile
Clergy, CRE and Educators Retreat
October 17-19 at El Caribe Resort and Conference Center in Daytona Beach
Guest Speaker: The Rev. Jon Brown, Pastor of the Old Bergen Church in New Jersey
Come away and rest a while. (Mark 6:31). The gospel narrative reminds us that Jesus’ disciples were sometimes so busy that they barely had time to eat. In response he invited them to a time and place of rest. Jesus himself was known to go away to a deserted place to center himself and pray. Join us for a few days of rest and restoration as we reflect on God’s regenerative powers. Be renewed by the sounds of the ocean and fellowship of colleagues. Yes, come away and rest awhile. Online registration opens next week! Download this flyer for more information.

Memorial Presbyterian Church Middle School Mission Camp
Fourteen youth and five adult leaders from Memorial Presbyterian Church spent June 20-24 learning about and serving in Saint Augustine, while also mixing in a bit of fun, fellowship, and community building. During this at-home mission camp, youth spent time together learning about different needs in the community and visited different sites to volunteer and serve, including St. Francis House and the Port in the Storm which serves unaccompanied youth, individuals, and families in St. Johns County. They also studied scripture to discover how Christ calls each of us to be His hands and feet. View the full Facebook post.

Camp Day for Refugee Students Thanks to Orange Park Presbyterian Church
OPPC donors sent 46 refugee and asylum seekers to a day of camp experiences at Camp Montgomery, where they had fun with wall-climbing, archery and lake-swimming. The kids were mostly from Afghanistan, Syria, Cuba and Central America. View the full Facebook post.
Funding for mission like this comes in part from sales with Serrv which offers fair trade products from artisans around the world. Non-profits that have a relationship with Serrv receive 20% of the purchases. They are given a special individual link like this one that provides OPPC with mission funds when it is used.
