The Marin Wildfire Chipper Day Program is back!

The Chipper Day program will start in early April and run through mid-November, resulting in six pickup opportunities for all residents within Marin Wildfire's service area.

The program provides for the curbside pickup, chipping, and disposal of vegetation material from residential properties. This service is funded by Measure C for wildfire prevention and is available to all residents within Marin Wildfire's joint powers service area.

The first pickup week in Fairfax is scheduled for the beginning of June. Secure your spot by making a reservation online! Questions? Contact chipper@marinwildfire.org.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

Celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week with us!

April 14 - 20, 2024 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. During this week, we recognize the invaluable contributions of the dedicated professionals who work behind the scenes. From dispatching emergency responders to providing critical assistance over the phone, these telecommunicators are the unseen heroes of our communities.

Let's take this opportunity to express our gratitude and recognize the unwavering dedication of these unsung heroes who play a vital role in keeping us safe. Join us in celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week!

Upgraded speed radar signs

Upgraded speed radar signs have been installed on the westbound and eastbound blocks of 1700 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The signs are now solar powered.

The purpose of radar speed signs is to slow cars down by making drivers aware when they are driving at speeds above the posted limits. Speed radar signs are statistically proven to reduce the speed of drivers and the risk of pedestrian accidents.

Be aware of posted speed limits and slow down.

CLIMATE ACTION

Electric Landscape Equipment Rebates

The sunshine encourages many of us to get outside and work in the yard. Trade in your gas powered landscaping equipment for electric, using the Town’s rebates for both residents and landscapers who purchase eligible electric landscape equipment from Fairfax Lumber & Hardware. Additionally, you can receive a rebate discount at the point of sale when you trade in your gas- or diesel-powered tools. Make the switch to electric and save!

For additional information about the ordinance and rebate program, visit the Landscape Equipment webpage.
