The Future is Not What It Used to Be

Earlier this year, the Society 5.0 initiative, CSU TECH Hub and the Center for Human Machine Systems at CSU held a discussion about advanced technologies and the future entitled, "The Future is Not What It Used to Be: Thinking Differently Through Transdisciplinary, Team Science and Socio-technical Controversies." TECH Hub Co-director Dr. Nicholas C. Zingale, associate professor, Levin College of Public Affairs and Education, served as the moderator. Panelists included Dr. Sue L. T. McGregor, professor emerita at Mount Saint Vincent University; Anouk Geenen, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Twente, and Dr. Eric Schearer, associate professor of engineering and director of the Center for Human Machine Systems at CSU. You can catch a replay of the riveting discussion at the link below.

What the TECH Hub Offers

Did you know the TECH Hub sources grant opportunities and provides proposal support? And that's not all!

Working at the intersection of Technology, Equity, Community and Health, we are one of two strategic hubs formed through the Internet of Things Collaborative (IOTC), a partnership between CSU and Case Western Reserve University leveraging their complementary strengths to drive research, education and engagement that harnesses the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve the quality of life for Greater Cleveland residents. The TECH Hub seeks to deepen and expand the work of the IOTC at CSU, building a critical mass of researchers and educators interested in IoT and its related digital technologies. In addition to creating opportunities for deeper learning and engaging with the community, we support our affiliates, or faculty partners, by:

  • Connecting internal efforts to external constituents;
  • Fostering interdisciplinary and convergent teams for research and curriculum development;
  • Supporting faculty teams on complex, multidisciplinary and multi-partner projects;
  • Identifying funding opportunities for research and curriculum development; and
  • Providing faculty development opportunities.
