Taste of Michigan’s Sunrise Side

Join us on this delectable tour to Michigan's Sunrise Side. Our first stop will take us to Wilson's Cheese Shoppe. Pinconning’s famous cheese is aged up to 120 months, giving it a special savory flavor. This specific brand of Colby made Pinconning the “Cheese Capital of Michigan.” Originally created by Dan Horn, his daughter Inez opened Michigan’s first cheese store – Wilson’s Cheese Shoppe. Almost 80 years later they still operate and are proud to serve this all natural, original recipe made from grass-fed cows. Their cheeses are gluten and rGHB antibiotic free. Then it's off to lunch at Iva's Famous Chicken Dinners voted on as Michigan's best chicken on Mlive. Here you'll enjoy a family style chicken dinner with all the fixings and end the meal with a slice of homemade pie. Now in its 4th generation, from its humble beginnings of when Iva served local oil riggers to now serving people from all across Michigan and beyond. Now get your sweet tooth fix at Sherni's Candies. Mr. Hasty has been in the chocolate business for over 45 years. You just have to try the chocolate covered potato chips and raspberries. If you're from Northeast Michigan, then pickles are just a part of your life. Our last two stops will take us to AuGres. AuGres was home to a pickle factory for many years. It's no longer there, but the Sunrise Side is known for their pickles, and you can't have a better tasting pickle than at Freakin' Pickles. They have some of the most unique flavors you can find anywhere! The last stop of this tour is at Modern Craft Winery. Find out why they are a Different Kind of Wine. You'll be able to sample wines that are sure to please any palate.

Includes: motor coach transportation, lunch at Iva’s Famous Chicken Dinners, visits to a cheese shoppe, homemade candy store, pickle store, and a winery with wine tasting.

Not Included: bus driver’s tip ($1-$2 per person suggested).
