On March 25th from 2-4pm, we will host a FREE opportunity for Girls Scouts to earn several different STEM Badges at Morgan State University in celebration of Women’s History Month. Don’t miss this great activity led by STEM Professional Women and MSU students. For more information and to register, go to our website.


Cybersecurity Video!
This year’s Festival will focus heavily on video games and eSports. One of our sponsors, the National Cryptologic Foundation, is looking for students to beta test their video before it is released. Give it a try and let them know what you think! The Festival in Your Neighborhood!

On Thursday, February 9, the Maryland STEM Festival participated in the STEAM Night at Christa McAuliffe Elementary School in Germantown sharing STEM activities with their families. On Saturday February 25, the Festival hosted a table at the FIRST Lego League State Championship in UMBC. This was their first in person State Championship since the pandemic.  If you are having a STEM event, let us know, maybe we can join you! Even if we cannot attend, we would like to help you promote your event!
Podcast Returns!

After a too long hiatus our STEM Festival Podcast will be returning with a new format. It will be released on the 1st and 14th or 15th of each month. The podcast will be 30 minutes long and feature a Maryland STEM Professional or someone involved in STEM in Maryland and a Maryland student who has a passion for STEM.  The return date is March 14th, Pi Day. Let us know if have a good candidate for the Podcast. The Podcast can be found on all traditional outlets and our website .
TeachedUP!

We are always looking for fun ways to share STEM with World. Each Month we will be featuring one or two editions of TeachedUp. TeachedUp is a daily webcomic produced by Dr. David LaFazia. The strip's purpose is to support educators by taking a humorous look at STEM education, classroom management, and school culture. The comic follows the life and career of Mr. Tony Culpepper - a secondary school science teacher, and is available at drlafazia.com/teachedup. You can also find Dr. LaFazia on LinkedIn! Let us know what you think of TeachedUP!
Student Festival Ambassadors!

The Festival hosts events for students across the state, but we also have opportunities to be High and Middle School student to help us bring STEM to everyone.  Our STEM Ambassadors promote the Festival and encourage people to attend in very creative ways. We have a meeting scheduled for 6 pm on March 16th. If you or someone you know would like to join, email Phil at mdstemfest@gmail.com
