Volunteer Fair March 30th

Community Care Northumberland (CCN) invites all volunteer-based organizations to participate in the Volunteer Fair on March 30th in Campbellford! Contact us today to get involved!

March for Meals

Each year, Meals on Wheels providers across Ontario participate in March for Meals, an annual campaign to increase awareness and community engagement during March, which is National Nutrition Month, where we highlight CCN as one of the local providers of Meals on Wheels from across North America.

During Community Champions Week, Community Care Northumberland’s (CCN’s) Meals on Wheels program welcomes local mayors, elected officials, local celebrities, and other prominent community figures in creative ways to deliver meals, speak out for seniors and people with disabilities and raise awareness for the power of Meals on Wheels.

This year, Community Champions Week will be celebrated for Meals on Wheels throughout Northumberland Monday, March 27th - Friday March 31st.

Volunteer Driver Feature

We have so many amazing volunteers here at Community Care Northumberland (CCN). We sat down with Keith Radway, and wanted to spotlight Keith, who has been a CCN Volunteer Driver since 2020.

What got you interested in becoming a volunteer driver?

"I was playing pickle ball with a friend, who Volunteers for Meals on Wheels and I thought; I might like doing something like that and that I would like to get involved in the community."

What did you do before becoming a volunteer with CCN?

"I was a Logistics and Inventory Manager for Thales Canada."

What is your most memorable and rewarding moment?

"I will always remember 'Molly' very fondly...

I drove her to her chemo appointments at the hospital 3 times a week.

She was always dressed as if she was going to a fancy restaurant.

After her treatments she would tell me how well they went...even though I could tell she was in a lot of pain. She was extremely courageous during these times...

To me, there is no better way to give back to our community. All of our clients are very grateful for the service we provide."
