The Diocesan Ministry Formation Program (MFP) is seeking quality candidates for its next class, which will begin in August, 2023. The program, now in its 31st year, provides its participants with opportunities for growth in the following areas: theological development, human development, spiritual development, and pastoral skills in order to fulfill their baptismal promise to serve.  MFP is the standard for those who are servant leaders in

the areas of: catechesis, adult faith formation, youth ministry, RCIA to name some areas. The endorsement of one’s pastor is a requirement for application. To assist people in their discernment process, the MFP is offering four information sessions:

NALM (National Association for Lay Ministry is hosting two sessions on the Continental Stage of the Synod on Synodality. These are free events and open to all.

Enlarge The Space In Your Tent: Listening Sessions

We were heard! Insights from NALM’s synod synthesis report, a prayerful distillation of 8 listening sessions with 172 people, were echoed in synthesis reports released by the U.S. Bishops as well as Vatican’s synod synthesis team! Both documents acknowledge the desire of the People of God for more opportunities to engage each other synodality,

as well as the need to form people spiritually to do so if we hope to become a Church that truly listens.

And the conversation isn’t over. We have now been invited by the Vatican and the U.S.

Bishops to discern together about the themes in the global synthesis document, Enlarge the Space in Your Tent, particularly those that most impact and potentially empower lay ministers.

Join NALM colleagues at one of two discernment

sessions to do just that:

Wednesday, January 18, and Monday January 23,

2023, 2-3:30 p.m. ET.

We will pray, discern collectively with the document,

and gather fruits which will be shared with our network and our Bishops.

How to Ride Your Dragon: Strengthening Your Inner Life and Enhancing Interpersonal Relations in Challenging Times

Robert J. Wicks

January 24th 3:00 PM EST

One of the greatest gifts we can share with others is our own peace. However, we can’t share what we don’t have. By discussing psychological and classic spiritual approaches to maintaining a healthy perspective and enhancing resilience in challenging times, Robert J. Wicks, an expert on the prevention of secondary stress (the pressures experienced in reaching out to others) and author of Riding the Dragon: 10 Lessons for Inner Strength in Challenging Times, explains how we can develop a more resilient life and extend our warmth to others without losing our own inner fire in the process. Practical, illustrative, and lively, this webinar will provide essential information on resilience, compassion, and personal and professional wellbeing.
