Showers of Blessing Thanks Us
for our Donations
"Thank you for your donation to Showers of Blessing. In these days of huge social challenges, you are participating in a service that is requested and appreciated by our homeless neighbors as they try to negotiate housing and other services. They often tell us that with a hot shower they can do something to improve their lives. Thank you for understanding the essential foundation to a better life that hygiene gives our guests.
We invite you to stop by one of the sites to participate in the friendly, grateful atmosphere as guests take their hot showers, receive new socks and underwear and a meal. Each site has a group of volunteers who enjoy each other and create relationships with our guests.
With gratitude,
Sally Hamilton, Board Member, Showers of Blessing
P.S. Please look at our website
showersofblessingsb.org for the schedule of our weekly sites. We would love to welcome you for a site visit anytime.

a Transitional Housing Appeal
Good Samaritan Services, or Dignity Moves, features an Adopt a Room campaign to provide Transitional Housing for people without homes. At a recent JOC meeting, the Council voted to allocate $900 to fund three rooms to support the transitional housing project of Dignity Moves and invites the congregation to join in this effort.
There are approximately 30 units still to be funded on this project, costing $200-300. This transitional housing program is managed by Good Samaritan, has been successful. See more at Santa Maria Homeless Shelter | Communities | DignityMoves

Transforming Climates: Preaching Environmental Justice
April 2-4, In person at Sewanee, the University of the South
Racial and planetary climates are shifting in ways that demand transformation: of our society, of our communities, and of our preaching. This conference will explore how preaching changes when colonialist and exploitative conceptions of humanity break down. In small group workshops and lectures, participants will develop tools for an embodied, attentive, and place-based approach to preaching that can invite transformation of racial and environmental injustices. For more information and to register, visit the Sewanee website.

Celebrate and Support Justice | |
Celebrate loved ones by using the envelopes in the pews to recognize a special family member or event.
Turn your memories into a donation to the Justice and Outreach Council. We will use these funds to provide comfort and safety to those in need—food, education for children, assistance to immigrants—any of our neighbors needing support. . . so they can celebrate. Together, these gifts make possible our community of welcome, reconciliation, and service.
There are two ways you can continue to celebrate and support our justice work in addition to your pledges both now and in the future. Send in a check made out to Trinity and simply note “Justice” in the memo line and provide the names of the persons or occasion you want to celebrate. Or donate via Trinity’s PayPal account, select "Justice Fund" and under “special instructions” provide the names of the persons or occasion you want to celebrate.
Thank you to our celebration donors for February!

Land Acknowledgement
We honor and acknowledge the Chumash people, the traditional custodians of this land, and pay our respects to the Chumash elders, past, present, and future, who call this land on which we sit their home. We appreciate their wisdom, their culture, and their presence among us today as the host people of this land. We lament the injustices done to the original inhabitants and the injustices done to this land in the centuries since. We seek the courage and wisdom to heal the wounds of the past and build a better future together, in deep solidarity.
