February 2023

Dear Residents & Community Members,

The Town of Monroe community grieves the loss of three Village of Monroe residents who tragically perished in a house fire on February 23rd. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this most difficult time, as we are once again reminded of the brevity of life. We thank all of our first responders who answer the call to serve day in and day out, working tirelessly to keep our community safe.

Our Fire District and Ambulance services are 100% volunteer based. They need our help to sustain these services. Please consider stopping by the Town of Monroe Open House at Town Hall on Wednesday, March 29th to learn more about opportunities to volunteer with the Monroe Fire District and Monroe Volunteer Ambulance or reach out to these organizations for more information on how you can make a difference in our community.

It seems the groundhog is staying true to his prediction as we prepare for the most significant snowfall we've seen all season. Our Highway Department does a fantastic job maintaining and keeping our roads safe. Please refrain from parking on town roads during the storm and for everyone's safety, only travel if absolutely necessary as conditions deteriorate.

Think Spring! Only 21 more days to go.

Best Regards,

Tony Cardone

Supervisor, Town of Monroe

Remembering a Local Hero

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Monroe resident and U.S. Army Veteran, Vinnie Marino. Vinnie served in World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe. County Executive Steve Neuhaus accompanied Vinnie on the first Hudson Valley Honor Flight 10 years ago. We will always remember Vinnie's kindness and pride in his service to our country.
