Spring Training and Topic Requests
The Department will be holding training for Hospital Discounted Care (HDC), dates to be determined in March and/or April. Providers are encouraged to send topic requests to hcpf_HospDiscountCare@state.co.us no later than Friday, March 3. If no topic requests are received, the Department will determine training topics based on questions sent to the HDC inbox.
Office Hours
The Department will continue to hold Office Hours every Wednesday beginning at 9 a.m. The Zoom link and call in information for Office Hours are available on the HDC website under the Office Hours section. Providers are encouraged to come to Office Hours as they are able, and may come and go as their schedule allows. Please note that Office Hours will be canceled for March 15 due to the Health Cabinet Affordability Summit being held at the same time.
Decline Screening Forms
The Department has received multiple questions about when a Decline Screening form is needed. Decline Screening forms are only needed from uninsured patients who do not want to be screened for discounted care to help cover their services. Uninsured patients who complete a screening and decide not to apply DO NOT need to sign a Decline Screening form. Insured patients DO NOT need to sign a Decline Screening form. The Department has also ceased the use of the term "opt out" when referring to this form to help decrease confusion.
