We’ve seen a positive outlook on our COVID numbers recently, and
our active cases across NISD are now down significantly from the previous two weeks. Thank you to all our families and staff for working together as we continue to overcome challenges from the pandemic.
While we’re in a much better position for learning, one area that is still affected by COVID is our transportation. Last Friday, we were down 24 drivers because of COVID, and today we’re currently down 10 drivers. This is an improvement, but we do expect about 25 routes to see delays because of this.
Our transportation team will let you know directly if your route is among those that may see delays. If possible, please make a “Plan B” if you’re in one of these groups, as the delays could affect your personal schedules. As the current COVID surge declines, we anticipate this kind of challenge will be less likely. I know these delays are an added burden on some of our families, and I appreciate the grace you’ve provided us – our transportation team remains working diligently to pick up and drop off students as safely and quickly as they can.
