Teresa Lattier, teacher education coordinator, was appointed to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s first Texas Transfer Framework Field of Study for the area of education. This is a subcommittee composed of faculty from both two-year and four-year institutions and it’s going to consider courses to recommend in the inclusion of the first Texas Transfer Framework for Education.
Congratulations to students in the Lee College Theater Department. They won 18 awards at the Texas Community College Speech & Theatre Association 2023 festival for their production of "Milk Milk Lemonade." TCCSTA is an annual play festival where students compete and judged by four-year university professors. This year, students received awards for sound design, costume design, lighting design, stage management, dramaturgy, poster design as well as judge's choice for acting.
Soccer players representing the Lee College Student Activities Recreation Department kicked their way to the #1 spot at the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate Consortium Sports Day at San Jacinto College South. Kudos also goes to the department's flag football team for coming in 4th place. The bi-annual GCIC event brings together colleges from across the greater Houston area for some friendly competition and bragging rights.
Micah Bullard (pictured front with navy sweater), an alumnus of the Lee College Honors Program, returned home to perform with the Dance Theatre of Harlem Company at Jones Hall in Downtown Houston. Bullard received his training at The Dance Center of Baytown. A group of Lee College faculty, staff and students attended the performance to support their star alumnus.
