School News and Announcements
|
School Closure:
DPS Superintendent, Dr. Alex Marrero, has made a change to the DPS calendar and has closed schools on Friday, November 19th. You can read his letter to the community here.
As a reminder:
- Any absences related to receiving the vaccine will be excused.
- We will help monitor students for any type of reaction if they come to school after receiving the vaccine. Let your teacher know if your child is coming to school soon after getting vaccinated so we can keep a close eye on them.
|
Budget Presentation:
Thank you to all of you who attended this week’s budget presentation. There was a lot of information shared, so if you missed it you can find the slide deck here and a recording of the meeting here.
|
From the Health Office:
As COVID cases in Colorado continue to increase, we remind you to keep your student home if they are experiencing any symptom of illness, even if they have received their 1st vaccine. If minor symptoms have not resolved within 48 hours of onset, your student will require a negative COVID test (PCR or molecular only) to return safely to school. Let the office know if your student has tested positive for COVID or has had a close contact exposure; we will provide further guidance for isolation/quarantine protocol. Please reach out to the School Nurse with questions 720-424-3722.

We were thrilled to deliver more than 80 coats to the LoVVe Project for distribution to families at Ellis Elementary. This was a wonderful success for S.C.A.T.'s first schoolwide service project of the year; stay tuned for more opportunities to help our broader community this year through S.C.A.T. Speaking of - the next S.C.A.T. meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 17th in Room 212 from 3:15-4:45. We look forward to seeing S.C.A.T. members there. Questions? Email Sarah Almy Moore or Julie Lees.
