The Studios at the Rye YMCA Moving Forward
|
|
|
Thanks to the generosity of Rye Y donors and the hard work of our construction team, The Studios at the Rye YMCA is moving closer to reality. Our architects and engineers are finalizing the construction plans and we expect to receive a building permit from the City of Rye in the coming weeks. We anticipate starting renovations on the former retail space in mid to late September.
None of this would be possible without the outpouring of support from community residents, who have donated $1,050,000 to the Growing Stronger Together Capital Campaign for the Y Studios and the new Early Learning Center. We are so grateful for every gift, large and small and offer our special thanks to two of our legacy donors Sandy and Joe Samberg, who are underwriting our yoga studio, and Stephen and Catherine Furnary, who are underwriting one of our Early Learning Center classrooms.
It’s not too late to invest in our community and in a stronger, more sustainable Y for future generations. Help us cross the finish line as we sprint toward our $1.2 million goal by clicking here.

The Rye Y’s Togetherhood Committee is seeking new members to help plan community service projects outside the walls of the Y. Over the past seven years, we have organized over 30 projects for such organizations as The Sharing Shelf, Rye Nature Center, Edith Read Sanctuary, Carver Center, Don Bosco Community Center, Bread of Life food pantry, Open Door Family Medical Centers, Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, Harrison Food Pantry and more! Join us in making a difference! For more information, contact Denise Woodin.
We continue to support Bread of Life food pantry in Rye by collecting non-perishable food items on an ongoing basis. Leave your donation in the yellow-topped bin in the Y’s entryway any time the Y is open. The need is great and your generosity will be greatly appreciated!

Parking Safety
Please be mindful that Mead Place is a residential neighborhood. We encourage members to park in the YMCA lot to ensure the safety of the residents who live there, and to abide by the various parking restrictions on the neighboring streets around the YMCA (e.g., one side of the street parking on Mead).
There is no left turn out of the Y lot and no right turn into the lot from residential part of Mead Place. Signage reflecting this is clearly in place.
