Clinically Integrated Network Briefing

Update: Tufts Children’s Collaboration
A message for all members of the Wellforce Clinically Integrated Network, including physicians, advanced practice clinicians, administrators and the team in Braintree and Lowell

February 25, 2022

Dear Colleagues:

We’re writing to provide a brief update on the changes planned for our inpatient pediatric service as of July 1 of this year.

At both Tufts MC and Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH), there were multiple internal meetings to share ideas on how to best come together. We also hosted a nursing town hall to talk through career options and answer questions. We pushed live our internal Tufts MC Opportunities Portal for affected staff members and our human resources representatives continued their personal outreach to all employees who are impacted by the pediatric bed closures.

Through all of the ongoing dialogue we have identified a number of opportunities but have also heard concerns. We are working hard to address everything that has been communicated. The work is not easy but is essential to help us realize the full potential of this opportunity. No one expected this change to be an easy one. We are grateful to our physicians, nurses, clinical administrative teams for their honest feedback and for their active participation in these discussions, their commitments to creative problem solving and their ongoing commitment to our patients. Both organizations are committed to keeping our faculty, staff, students and trainees, patients and families at the center of every decision we make.

We will continue to provide you with weekly updates on our progress.

Sincerely,
The Wellforce Clinically Integrated Network
The Wellforce Clinically Integrated Network is a distinctively different population health enterprise and value-based care contracting entity. It comprises 2,300 primary care and specialist physicians and advanced practice clinicians, in private and employed practices, working in community and hospital settings. The Network’s purpose is to build healthier communities and to create healthy, rewarding experiences for our participating physicians and care teams. The Network was launched in July 2021 by building upon the legacies of two long-standing, high-performing organizations – Lowell General Physician Hospital Organization and New England Quality Care Alliance (NEQCA).
