Invisible Women: Portraits of Aging in Ukraine (Click here to learn more)

Date: On display at Lane Hall Gallery on weekdays from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM until August 18

Brief Description: In this exhibition, artists Ashley Bigham and Grace Mahoney investigate the visibility and social role of Ukraine’s older generation of women embodied in a figure both iconic and ubiquitous: the babusya. Seen in public transport, in the market, and on the street, each babusya has a story to tell. Each has something to say, something to gossip about, and something to complain about.

We Write To You About Africa Art Installation at UMMA (Click here to learn more)

Date: On display indefinitely during regular operating hours

Brief Description: Featuring a wide range of artworks—from historic Yoruba and Kongo figures to contemporary works by African and African American artists, such as Sam Nhlengenthwa, Masimba Hwati, Jon Onye Lockard and Shani Peters—the exhibition directly addresses the complex and difficult histories inherent to African art collections in the Global North, including their entanglements with colonization and global efforts to repatriate African artworks to the continent. With We Write To You About Africa, UMMA examines the subjective ways they and the University of Michigan as a whole have collected and presented art from and connected to the African diaspora.

U-M Graduates Now Eligible for "High Potential Individual" (HPI) UK Visa

U-M graduates are now eligible for a United Kingdom (UK) work visa, the High Potential Individual (HPI) visa. This visa aims to recruit skilled young workers from top universities across the world to elevate Britain’s workforce.

The HPI visa policy states that any person who graduated from a list of top eligible universities within the past five years is able to receive this visa to reside in the UK for two years. Those with doctoral qualifications are eligible to reside for three years.

A job offer in the UK is not required to apply for the visa and those applying for the visa are allowed to bring dependents along with them. For more information about the HPI visa, visit the UK Government's website here and read this Michigan Daily article.

Your travel registration enables U-M to reach you in the event of an emergency – abroad or at home.
