Born in Sackville, New Brunswick in 1947, Bill was the first in his family to graduate from University with a History degree. His love for education lead him on a path to be a teacher, vice Principal and Principal. Bill worked in schools more than 25 years before entering politics.
He served as both an MLA and a cabinet minister as the Minister of Transportation and the Minister of Energy in Nova Scotia, retiring from politics in 2012.
He has had a community hall named after him for his commitment to the community. Bill was also awarded the Medal of Bravery from the Governor General for saving a man's life from a burning car! What bravery!
However, Bill would tell you that his greatest accomplishment is his family, including his daughter and grandchildren in Edmonton.
He loves to watch sports, specifically hockey. His favorite team is the Boston Bruins. Bill has a wonderful sense of humor and is an amazing storyteller. He can make you laugh and cry with the same story! He is kind and attempts to include everyone in an activity or conversation.
We adore Bill and are so happy he has made ExquisiCare his home.
