Meet Aunt Kit:
Seahaven Sunrises & Synchronicity

If you've read Feathers in the Sand (Seahaven Sunrise Book 1), you've met the fascinating, lovely, generous Aunt Kit (aka Katharine Gilmore). Now in her 60's, she owns property in Seahaven, Maine, and is retired from her unexpected career in modeling.

Aunt Kit intentionally greets as many days as she can by watching the sunrise, and the reason why will be shared in Sea Glass Memories (Seahaven Sunrise Book 2), which will be floating in on the waves to you in October.

She also is a firm believer in synchronicity, defined by Carl Jung as "meaningful coincidence" or a "non-causal event in the external world which coincides with things going on in the internal world, such as our thoughts, feelings and dreams." Yes, Kit is a deeply spiritual woman (in spite of her worldly modeling career). She owns a unique gift shop in downtown Seahaven called "Coastal Soul" and is a major influence in the lives of her niece Tess and Tess's young daughter, Eva.

A prime example of Kit's belief in synchronicity is the way she rents out the apartments in the large Victorian house that is on her property—she leaves an empty apartment empty until it's made clear to her who the next dweller is to be.

I've experienced the magic of synchronicity many, many times in my life. Some of these are small and some are larger. How each of our felines (and 1 canine) came to us over the years were small synchronicities. Another time, I thought I had the perfect creativity coach lined up, but she broke her arm which forced me to look elsewhere and then I found an even more perfect creativity coach!

My favorite example of synchronicity is a bigger one. In 2005, I was flying from Boston to California to attend the SoulCollage® Facilitator Training. In the St. Louis, Missouri airport during a flight change, I was surprised when—in the ladies room—I ran smack into my therapist from Massachusetts, Fran! Neither one of us had any idea that the other was traveling that week, and it was especially synchronistic for me because Fran had been the most encouraging component in my decision to attend the Training, to become a SoulCollage® Facilitator!

I hope you enjoy my Seahaven Sunrise books (which also include love stories) and that you will also be on the lookout for any "meaningful coincidences" in your own life this week (and ever after).

Please send a reply to this email and let me know of any synchronicities (big or small) that you've experienced on your own journey.

By the way, the image above is a stock photo I found on Dreamstime that is a good rendition of how Aunt Kit appears in my imagination!

FEBRUARY Fiction Give-Aways:

Heart & Soul-Stirring Story

This month I'm giving away TWO paperback copies of Pieces of Happily Ever After by Irene Zutell. Don't you just love the cover?!?

As you may know by now, I love stories about women who are asking themselves who they are, what they want, and how to live a life that is true to their soul. This witty, humorous, heartfelt novel does not disappoint! The main character is named Alice, and her marriage has ended badly. She has a 5-year-old daughter, Gabby, who believes in princesses and magic and "happy ever after." She also has an elderly mother with Alzheimer's and some really wise women friends who stick with her through it all. There is a light romance, but the whole story is deeper on the soul romance level.

To enter, just fill out the short form hereand I'll do a random drawing THIS SUNDAY FEBRUARY 19. I'll send you an email notice that you've won, and I'll ask for your snail mail address after that!
(NOTE: I use the random generator at random.org to choose the winners
so it's all fair and square.)
Who loves getting snail mail?
I do! I do!

Wouldn't it be great to get something in the mail that isn't invoices or marketing flyers? Well, I've got something great for YOU.

Email me your name and snail mail address, and I will send you a lovely bookmark with the famous Emily Dickinson quote (Hope is the thing with feathers...) on it.

I'll even sign it on the back, along with a recipe card (both sides) for Glory's Whoopie Pies! (Glory is a character from Feathers in the Sand.)

Just send a reply to this email. I'm looking forward to hearing from you and sending you these goodies.

P.S. The mailing address that you give me is JUST for this one mailing. I'm not creating a mailing list so I can pepper you with junk mail!
Greetings! thank you for reading my author newsletter. This is me several years ago after facilitating a weekend SoulCollage® retreat at Kripalu in the Massachusetts Berkshires. I do love SoulCollage!

In between newsletters, I'll be posting more often on Instagram, my blog, and/or my Facebook Author page, so I hope you'll visit me there too.
