Happy 45th to the Ball & Skein!

Cuarenta y Cinco Fino

The Ball & Skein started way back in 1978 and has grown to be one of the larger yarn shops in the country!

We're so thankful for everyone that has been a part of this amazing story. To celebrate, Manos del Uruguay has created a color for us in the blue and green colors that remind us of Cambria. We call the color Cuarenta y Cinco, which means 45 in Spanish.

It's dyed in Fino, a luxurious Merino/Silk blend that works up as a fingering weight. So soft and delicious, it's perfect for next-to-the-skin pieces.

New Noro Colors

Noro Tsuido

Our friends at Noro, the unique yarn from Japan, have released new colors in some of our favorite yarns, such as Ito, Tsuido, and Kureyon. As you likely know, Noro colors tend to get discontinued quickly due to their manufacturing process. That means if you see a color you like, we'd advise you to get it now!

Check out the easy and beautiful one-skein cowl project below!

This beautiful cowl is knit with just one ball of Noro Ito on US 7s! It's simple and warm, and because the yarn is self striping, your friends will think you worked much harder than you actually did! (It's our little secret)

Just ask us for a copy of the pattern when you order your skein of Ito!
