This Sunday, May 21, at the 11am Traditional worship service, the Knox Choir presents the premiere of Atlanta composer B.E. Boykin’s anthem Sing for Joy, a setting of Psalm 5:11. Commissioned by Christy and Scott Holland in memory of Rose K. and J. Kent Holland, this premiere marks the 16th Knox anthem or hymn commission since 1995.  Click here for a complete list of Knox anthem and hymn commissions. If you would like to commission for Knox an anthem or a hymn in honor of a loved one or in celebration of a major life milestone, contact Earl Rivers, Director of Music, at erivers@knox.org.

WORSHIP & MUSIC COMMITTEE NEWS

Knox's Worship & Music Committee (W&M) is launching a new structure and you are invited to be a part of it! W&M is still a committee of Session but in order to improve efficiency and allow members to work on specific areas for which they have passion, we have formed 4 distinct teams:

Fresh Spirit Service - Traditional Service
Knox Music Series - Chancel Guild

The Fresh Spirit and Traditional teams will spend time exploring all aspects of the worship services including, but not limited to: liturgy, music, live-stream, use of technology, aesthetics of the space. The Knox Music Series team will be involved with the many details of the KMS events which occur 2X/year.

If you have an interest in contributing to the experiences of worship or music at Knox, we'd love to have you as a part of one of our teams.
If you are interested in getting involved or just want more information, feel free to reach out to the following people:

Fresh Spirit Team - David Annett
Traditional Team - Adam Fronczek
Knox Music Series Team - Earl Rivers
Pilgrimage to the Holy Land
February 2024
Join us!
The Rev. Jana Reister invites you to experience the beautiful, complex and inspiring Holy Land on a pilgrimage to Israel and Palestine, February 4-15, 2024. (An optional extension to Jordan/Petra is offered Feb. 14-19.) We’ll visit important archeological, Christian, Muslim and Jewish sites and explore contemporary issues of the land and the people. We welcome you! The trip is open to folks beyond the Knox community as well, so spread the word. Registrations are needed soon to secure your spot. Follow these links to: brochures, itinerary, registration form, COVID info.
Knox will once again be hosting FH-IHN Network (FH-IHN) families for six rotations in 2023. The next rotation will be June 11-18. Once again Knox will be providing shelter and hospitality to homeless families who are trying to become re-established.

During these rotations, we will need seven volunteers each evening to deliver a meal, and/or spend the evening or overnight with our guests. We will also need help with set-up, take-down, laundry, and donation of pantry supplies. Please consider volunteering, there are many opportunities. Visit the link below to sign-up.
