RIP Legendary Designer
Paco Rabanne
On February 7, 2023, the fashion industry lost another legendary designer. Paco Rabanne, whose real name was Francisco Rabaneda y Cuervo, was known for his futuristic designs. Most famously, he created Jane Fonda's space-age look in the sci-fi film Barbarella in 1968.

Born in 1934 in Spain, his interest in fashion stemmed from his mother who was a seamstress for the House of Balenciaga. He began his career as a jewellery designer, and later launched his own couture house in 1966. On the Paco Rabanne website, his staff wrote, "We are grateful to Monsieur Rabanne for establishing our avant-garde heritage and defining a future of limitless possibilities."
