Words of Wellness Wisdom (WoWW)

from Susan Greeley, MS, RDN,

National Director, Wellness Services

Growing up in Ohio I dreaded February. It was that month of dark, dreary, and cold days that reinforced how much I crave sunshine and "longer days." After many years of being in the health industry, however, February has become my favorite month! It is the month devoted to heart (cardiovascular) health and all things that are good for our hearts, including being physically active, mastering stress on our minds and bodies, and eating delicious, heart-healthy foods like dark chocolate! To that end, you will find the recipe to this beautiful, fabulous chocolate bark below, as well as the links to my latest webinar on stress and understanding our nervous systems, with Dr. Juna Bobby, who is also our newest Affinity Partner, and to my podcast episode with Charity Miles CEO, Gene Gurkoff. In addition, CCPHP is proud to partner with Charity Miles this year -- look out for that communication to invite all of our Members (and your doctor!) to join this community of giving while walking. My goal is empower Members with easy ways to focus on healthy living, which means taking care of ourselves and others. We have more fabulous wellness events lined up, and in case you've missed the winter yoga series, you can do them with the recordings and join me later in spring for another series. We will be offering more events on strength training and balance that can be for anyone looking to build and maintain muscle while losing weight or simply to stay fit and strong.

I would like to make 2024 a year of connecting more, moving more, giving more, and doing more for our hearts!

As always, we are grateful for you as a CCPHP Member.
