ANNOUNCEMENTS
NEW: STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED The East Bay Sea Serpents are seeking additional coach-volunteers to assist with their special needs swim program. Volunteers must be 14 & up, and must be comfortable in the water teaching others--anything from learn-to-swim to more advanced lap swimming & stroke technique, for ages 6 to adult. Program meets Sundays at Campo, 4-5pm, and students can use these hours towards volunteer service awards. Program meets now through early June and volunteers must commit to 70% of the dates. NEW: UC DAVIS TOUR FOR STUDENTS Join the College & Career Center for a tour of UC Davis on Monday, April 18 from 7:30am-2:00pm. All grades are welcome! Details in the CCC section.

NEW: CHS ROBOTICS CLUB Campo Robotics brought home three trophies from their latest tournament. They received awards for performance, design, and community service. Bravo Ms. Madra and Campo Robotics!

UPDATE: CAMPO PARENTS CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP! Do you want to bring more spirit to Campo or have a chance to affect the culture on campus? We are in need of a VP of Spirit and Events to oversee the Cougar Day event chairs, our hospitality event chairs and to bring some spirited ideas. Do you love to support student programs and wellness? We are in need of a VP of Student Support and Programming to oversee the areas of CPC that work directly to support students. We have various committee lead positions open, as well. Please email Christie Lenahan if you'd like to know more.

UPDATE: PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TOMORROW Parent help with lunch distribution is an ongoing need throughout the school year. In particular, we could use a few extra people to help out tomorrow, March 22, as Campo was chosen as the site for review by the CDE that day. Click here if you are available to help out.

ROAR ACADEMY OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS The ROAR (Robot Open Autonomous Racing) Academy is a rigorous and intensive two-week program for high school students. Students will have the opportunity to work with UC Berkeley faculty while learning about Python programming and introductory autonomous driving algorithms. VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARDS APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED NOW THROUGH MAY 1 Reminder to have your student keep track of their volunteer hours! Students can earn one of two service awards: Campolindo Service Award (school award) or the President's Volunteer Service Award (a national award). For more information, visit the CPC website or Campo's website. Due to the Covid pandemic, only 20 hours are required for the 2021-2022 school year.

NLI NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT SIGNING DAY RECOGNITION CEREMONY -- SPRING Date and Time TBA: If your son or daughter is interested in being recognized in our Spring NLI Recognition Signing Day, please contact AD Ray Meadows with your child's name and the name of the school they will be signing an NLI with. NCS/CIF PLAYOFFS WINTER SPORTS: Admission to all NCS/CIF Playoff games will require a ticket purchased on GoFan.co. This is for ALL spectators including students that wish to attend.

NEW:  UC DAVIS TOUR Join the College & Career Center for a FREE tour of UC Davis on Monday, April 18 from 7:30am-2:00pm. All grades are welcome! If you are a senior going to community college and think you may want to transfer to UC Davis, consider joining us. Stop by the College & Career Center to signup and pick up a field trip form by April 1. Space is limited.

UPDATE: OUT-OF-STATE COLLEGE FAIR ON CAMPUS Wednesday, March 23, 6:30-8:30pm in the Campolindo Library. RACC (Regional Admission Counselors of CA) will be holding an Out-of-State College Fair on our campus. Any grade is welcome, especially Juniors. The event is free and you can sign up here. CAREER TALKS, FRIDAYS (12:55-1:25) IN E13 OVER ZOOM Are you interested in learning about different jobs and whether one may be a good fit for you? The College & Career Center has lined up a group of professionals who are passionate about their jobs and want to share it with you. Come listen to them talk about their career, how they got there, pros/cons of the job, and what advice they have for you. All grades are welcome. Come to as many talks as you wish.  Register here.

UPDATE: START SMART: DRIVING SMART TO STAY SAFE IS SOLD OUT Parents who are interested and want a similar event offered at Campo in near future, please email Alicia Griffith so we can take note and work to coordinate. Start Smart provides teens and their caregivers with an interactive safe driving awareness class that will illustrate how poor choices behind the wheel can have devastating impacts and will equip participants with the tools needed to make smart choices when it comes to driving. ALTERNATIVES TO COLLEGE AND COLLEGE PREP Thursday, March 24 from 6:30-7:30pm in the Acalanes Library, Acalanes Parent Ed will host Cynthia Muchnick, M.A., author, speaker, educational consultant, and parent on Alternatives to College and College Prep. As a former Assistant Director of Admissions for the Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago, she has extensive experience screening and reviewing thousands of college applications. Most recently, she has authored several books including The Parent Compass: Navigating your Teens Wellness and Academic Journey in Today’s Competitive World and countless articles including Alternatives to College: Exploring Other Routes. Cindy will be speaking in person and available to sign purchased books afterwards. There are a lot of moving parts with the many events and activities in the spring of Senior year (memory boards, Time of Reflection, getting your cap & gown and other Graduation logistics, Senior Ball, Grad Night...the list goes on!). Come hear from Principal John Walker and get all the info you need to help make your student’s final events at Campo fun and memorable! This is also the time to pick up your Senior’s blank Memory Board (you add pictures and return for display in May--instructions will be provided).
 
SENIOR BREAKFAST & SENIOR PANORAMIC PICTURE DATE CHANGE The senior breakfast and class panoramic picture will be held on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:15am.

MORAGA ROTARY SCHOLARSHIPS Moraga Rotary provides two scholarships to Campolindo Seniors who meet their qualifications:

ELEVATE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship is for students who have been affected by mental health challenges. Their hope is that the scholarship inspires greater awareness about mental health and fuels innovative solutions that help the millions of people who are suffering. The application deadline is May 31. More information here.

JUNIOR PROM Save April 23 for a Covid-friendly but traditional "An Enchanted Evening" Junior Prom at Saint Mary's College. This event will be held outdoors; guests should allow for layers to keep warm and flat shoes for turf. Guests of Junior classmates are allowed but see the CPC Class of 2023 Website for all the details. Tickets will go on sale this week!
