Thinking About Generosity....

Sunday 15 January. Epiphany 2. Psalm 40.1-12

I give my heart to God

In the poem by Christina Rosetti “In The Bleak Mid-Winter”, the poet ponders on what she might give to God. “What shall I give him, poor as I am?” The Psalmist had already arrived at the same conclusion which she did, “Yet what I can I give Him, — Give my heart.” The psalmist wonders at all the bountiful mercy that God has shown them and knows that they cannot begin to communicate God’s generosity adequately. God asks in return not for sacrifices or any ritual burnt offerings. He requires the psalmist, and us, to have ears and hearts open both to him and the world. If we have both our ears and our hearts open to God then we hear what it is that he wants us to give to the world, communicating to it his faithfulness and salvation, his loving kindness and truth.

Updates from the Finance Team

New parochial fee charges are effective from 1 January 2023 and you can now download the 2023 Parochial Fees forms from our website. Completed forms should be emailed to fees@leeds.anglican.org. Please note we ordinarily make fee payments in the week of a funeral, rather than significantly in advance as we have had numerous instances of changes to submitted forms.

From 1st January 2023, Casual Duty fees are now £37. The claim form can be found on our website and will need to be authorised by your Area Dean before emailing to finance@leeds.anglican.org or mailing to Church House.

Payments relating to fees should be made to our specific fees account (10466315 sort code 090222) - please note that this account is for fees only.

Parish Share payments can be made by standing order (a form is available here), by BACS to account 10466302 sort code 090222 (with the share account number as reference) or by cheque.
