1) Monday, May 2: Grad Gala, including dinner for you and a guest, at 6 pm in the West Stadium Center at Maverick Stadium. RSVP at this Grad Gala link.

2) Thursday, May 5: Assemble on the Quad at 8 am to process to the Spectrum for USU Commencement Ceremony at 9 am; At 6 pm, assemble in the Waynes Estes Center immediately west of the Spectrum for the College of Science Convocation at 6:30 pm, ice cream social follows; RSVP to this Convocations link.

Jay Quade Speaks at Geosciences’ Forster Lectures
All are invited to USU Geosciences’ annual Forster Lecture Series featuring University of Arizona geochemist Jay Quade: “Climate and Origin of Large Plateaux” Monday, March 21, 3:30 p.m. GEOL 105, and “The Geology of Early Hominids in Ethiopia” Tuesday, March 22, 9 a.m. NR 105.

Your student Science Council hosts this one-of-a-kind gathering March 28 to hear from undergrad and grad student researchers. Physics Hosts Public Demo Show March 25
STEM enthusiasts of all ages are invited to the Department of Physics’ Spring Demo Show Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. in ESLC 130. The free gathering features about an hour of non-stop science demonstrations, highlighting optical illusions, vision, eyeglasses, color, the strong nuclear force, radioactivity and more.
New USUSA Officers Elected for 2022-23
Grad students at USU are represented by their USU Student Association college senator, as well as a university-wide School of Graduate Studies senator. New officers for 2022-23 are Science Senator Gabriella Cale, an undergrad biology major with a chemistry minor; and Graduate Studies Senator Sarah N. Pope, a doctoral student in cognitive psychology.

Science Unwrapped welcomes USU electrical engineer Regan Zane, who presents “Electric Avenues: Advancing Sustainability through Powered Infrastructure for Roadway Electrification (ASPIRE)” at Science Unwrapped Friday, April 1, at 7 p.m. in ESLC 130. Student Hardship Fund
The College of Science Hardship Fund provides one-time, emergency financial assistance to students within the college who are experiencing a crisis. This fund is separate from the university’s Student Emergency Fund, from which science majors may also apply for assistance. To access the fund’s website, select “Students” from the main navigation bar on the College of Science home page and select “Student Hardship Fund” from the drop-down menu.
