A PUBLICATION OF THE NORMANDALE PTO
There’s something spooky happening in the ghostly lit hallways of Normandale Elm. Where echoes of laughing students eerily hang in the air above an entangled mass. Where cherished child-sized artifacts litter the corridors in a heap of despair. Where the new and gently used disappear without a trace, gone for good. And once prized possessions lay listlessly, rotting in piles of neglect just waiting for the day to rise again. These are The Tales From The PIT! – the Lost and Found pit! Don’t let this nightmare become reality. Claim your items soon before they’re donated forever... Mwahahahaha!

FOOD PROGRAMS
VEAP & Every Meal
| |
Edina Public Schools partners with two food programs to help support students coping with food insecurity. The first is VEAP which provides weekly food bags with daily snacks per child. This year we will continue to offer pre-packed bags of nutritious and student-friendly snacks/foods for schools to distribute as needed. This food program is intended for those households that are low income. If you are interested in this food program, please email our school social worker at lisa.rapkehoffman@edinaschools.org to request the weekly snack bags which are distributed on Fridays into student backpacks.
The second program is Every Meal which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to fight child hunger. They focus on filling the food gaps children face on weekends, extended breaks, and summer when they’re not able to access school meal programs. Every Meal provides children and families experiencing food insecurity with access to good food. This program is not income dependent. Each week, tailored bags of food are distributed to students in their backpacks on Thursdays. If you want to sign up, please fill out this form.

VICTOR LORAIN
Kindergarten – Peralta
| |
Hi, my name is Victor, I am currently 22 years old. I grew up in Soulac/Sur/Mer, a seaside resort on the Atlantic coast. I am passionate about sports in general, which is
why I have been practicing English boxing for 5 years, but also action sports such as
rescue saving, surfing and also skateboarding. I have also been a lifeguard for 7 years. I have two 10-year-old twin sisters and a stepbrother the same age as me.

|
Favorite Foods: In terms of food, I really enjoy everything and want to discover some typical American dishes. But to make me happy a good pasta dish or pizza is more than enough for me.
In The US: I would like to understand the learning methods taught in the United States in addition to new knowledge and a different system to schooling. I'd also like to learn more about American culture by discovering new sports, cultural activities and new landscapes.
This new adventure is important for me because it allows me to get out of my comfort zone. I look forward to living with my host family and bonding with them to do activities. In the professional context it will allow me to be more open-minded.

The Edina Education Fund is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to the continued academic excellence of the Edina Public Schools.
The Ed Fund secures private, supplemental funding to support valuable education experiences and innovative projects in the Edina Public Schools. Funds raised augment school system revenues that are provided by taxes, state aid, and other parent and student led fundraising efforts. The Ed Fund is necessary to help ensure the caliber of educational programs we have come to expect of the Edina Public Schools. Your support means greater academic opportunities for all students, today and into the future.
We are fortunate to be part of the Edina community that has a strong, valued and well-respected school system. However, to protect and enhance the value of our homes and property and the quality of life we enjoy, we must further invest in our public school system. Edina Education Fund contributes to the development and financial support of district-wide programs within Literacy, STEAM and Mental Health/Wellness Services for all students and staff.
