MESSAGE FROM RICKY

Dear Friends,

You might notice a new face around the halls of the church. Noah Yeates has joined our staff as our new custodian. We're grateful to have Noah, who grew up running these halls, on our team. He'll be working to keep our facility in tip-top shape so if you see him say hi!

This coming Sunday we're beginning a new sermon series called: Words to Live By. We'll reflect together on several scripture passages that help us to center ourselves on the timeless truth found in God's word. We'll start this week with a famous passage from Ecclesiastes, "For everything there is a season..." This helps us to frame our life in God's time, not our own.

Speaking of seasons, summer is in full swing! While we know a lot of people will be traveling, vacationing, and at other summer events, when you're in town we have lots of plans for the whole family. Check out those plans below (and register now for Vacation Bible School).

Grace and Peace,

Ricky

GRAB YOUR SUNSCREEN!

On June 8th and 9th, the Youth Ministry will be having our annual Wake N' Welcome celebration. On Thursday from 5-7, we will have dinner, decorate pillowcases, and write letters to all the upcoming 7th graders. The plan for June 9th is to meet up at the family life building at 7 am and depart to surprise the 7th graders at their houses. We will meet at the Family Life Building by 7:45 to eat breakfast together, then depart for Geyser Falls by 8:30am. If you're interested going RSVP here

REGISTER FOR VBS!

Jesus is the Reason for Any Season! The dates for CHRISTMAS IN JULY are July 10th-13th from 5:15-8:15pm each evening. Over the course of four days, we will explore the Advent themes of hope, peace, joy, and love.

Each year FUMC's VBS event is a huge ministry to the children of our church and the local community. Lives are touched, friends are made, and the Word of God is taught to all who attend.

This is a big job and many people are needed to help! Contact Nikki Parsons at [email protected] or Lauren Beckmann at [email protected] or call the church office 601-924-6671 if you want to help with this exciting event.

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK

SEE YA IN THE FALL!

By. Katie Giedd

Our last Care Nights for the school year was this past month in April. We had not one but four professionals in various health care fields come in and give a presentation on how to navigate healthcare, both for yourselves and for your loved ones. It was a wonderful evening, and the topic is so relevant, we look forward to hosting them again for another program. Many thanks to all our community members AND church members who have participated in this year's Care Nights. We look forward to seeing you again in the Fall; if you have a topic you would like to discuss or hear discussed, email Katie and she can see what she can do!
