Daily Lenten Offering

If any think they are religious, and do not control their tongues but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself differentiated from the world.

—James 1:26-27

Creator God, my worship of your glory be good and right in the scope of others. May my worship today be kindness and compassion for those in distress, those with less power and fewer resources. Guard me from the anger, arrogance, and greed of this world. Lead me not into the temptation of power and pride. May I choose service and love, instead. Amen.

How are you doing so far this Lent? Are you reading the emails every day? What space are you creating around them? Are you following through on the actions?
