 The Brooklyn Oratory Parishes
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Boniface
February 22, 2022
From the Provost
In discussion with the Oratory and the Diocese of Brooklyn, Fr. Michael has asked to step down as pastor of Assumption Parish, as well as full time ministerial obligations. His request has been granted and will become effective on Friday, February 25. He remains a member of the Oratory. He will be traveling to Delaware to focus his time and attention on the healthcare needs of his family, particularly his father whose health has seriously declined recently. The Diocese has appointed me as administrator of Assumption, and with the help of the other members of the Oratory, we will continue to provide for the pastoral needs and administration of the parish community.

Office Closed This Week & Mass Cancellation
The office will be closed this week and staff will be working remotely due to the refinishing of the floors in the hall adjacent to the office. This is to protect the staff from the fumes. Mass will also be cancelled on Tuesday morning, 2/22 to ensure the church is properly ventilated before use.

Attention Black/African-American families and parishioners!
In honor of the 150th anniversary of St. Boniface Church, we are creating a history that includes as many communities as possible. If you identify as Black or African American, we'd love to hear about your experiences in the parish, especially if you and your family have been longtime members of the parish. Please send your memories/recollections to tracygarrisonfeinberg@gmail.com with the subject line "Black families at Boniface". And feel free to reach out to Tracy if you have any questions.
