Message from Fr. Mark Marangone, sx

“You will be my witnesses to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

A teenage girl named Jean got a summer job working as a maid in a hotel on Cape Cod, MA. Her job was to clean ten rooms every day. Over the summer, Jean met all kinds of interesting people, including a few celebrities. Of all the people she met, however, one stood in her mind above all the others. She called him Mr. Reed. Mr. Reed showed up one weekend with a small leather travel bag...

Novena of Grace to Saint Francis Xavier

March 4- 12

Dear Friends,

Each year during the month of March, a Novena of Masses is offered for our benefactors, and for the intentions dearest to their hearts. It is called the “Novena of Grace” because countless people have had their prayers answered by God through the intercession of St. Francis Xavier, the patron Saint of all the missions.

The “Novena of Grace” began in 1633 when Saint Francis Xavier appeared to the priest, Marcellus Mastrilli, SJ, in a healing vision, and promised that all who would earnestly ask his intercession with God for nine days would experience profound grace.

Interfaith Dialogue

Metrowest Dialogue Project

World Interfaith Harmony Week Annual UN Observance Week, February 1-7, 2023

The World Interfaith Harmony Week is based on the pioneering work of The Common Word initiative. This initiative, which started in 2007, called for Muslim and Christian leaders to engage in a dialogue based on two common fundamental religious Commandments: Love of God, and Love of the Neighbour, without nevertheless compromising any of their own religious tenets. The World Interfaith Harmony Week extends the Two Commandments by adding ‘Love of the Good, and Love of the Neighbor’. This formula includes all people of goodwill. It includes those of other faiths and those with no faith.

In commemoration of this week, the Metrowest Interfaith Dialogue Project invites you to the following events which will continue into the coming months.

Conversion: A Transformative Journey

Augustine’s Contribution to Our Journey of Conversion in Our Time

Have you ever thought: why is it that I repeat again and again the same sins? It doesn’t matter what I do, I keep falling into my predominant sin! Well, you are not alone. The road to conversion for some comes in an instant, but for the average person, it is a lifelong, continuous journey. The journey of conversion requires mentoring, perseverance, and God’s grace. We cannot achieve conversion by ourselves. It requires accompaniment from people who have a bit of experience in their journey of faith, our constant work towards becoming better, and ultimately God’s constant help...

Over the course of Lent, the Ignatian Solidarity Network invites you to join them in standing in solidarity with our migrant sisters and brothers. They will provide opportunities for you and your community to accompany migrants in prayer, fasting, and action.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Throughout this challenge, we will learn about the policies affecting migration, hear stories from migrants, gain the knowledge and skills to engage in advocacy, and pray together to better embody a church that welcomes, protects, promotes, and integrates the stranger in our midst.
