A PUBLICATION OF THE NORMANDALE PTO

TIME TO CONNECT

Now that daylight savings has come and passed, we get an extra hour to come together as a school community to support our phenomenal French Intern Program! This week begins a vital fundraising timeframe for our intern initiatives with lots of exciting ways to contribute as schoolmates, neighbors, and Normandale families. Incredible auction items will be available to bid on beginning this Wednesday as well as your ability to purchase tickets to exclusive events, sponsored around Edina! This school year, our intern program is projected to cost $235,000. INTERN INTROS

OLIVIA ALLEMAND

Kindergarten – Zetterlund

I'm from the south of France (Aix en Provence - Marseille). 3 years ago, I moved to Little Brittany near Normandy. In Little Britanny, I live in the city called Vannes, it's really beautiful. I have the ocean near by my apartment, which I am really grateful for. I'm a horse rider and used to ride 2-3 times per week on a horse called Andalousie. I also enjoy going to the cinema, finding new coffee shops and libraries, going on walks or trying adventure sports.

Favorite Foods: My sister makes really good pizzas from scratch (veggie ones are my favorites). I enjoy a good breaded chicken burger with barbecue sauce. I also love sushi...And I always need chocolate at the end of every meal.

In The US: I've heard Minnesota have really beautiful aurora borealis so I'm hoping to see them! I want to explore the lakes too. I absolutely would love to visit some nationals parks like Yellowstone. I'm planing to travel to New York for Christmas and New Year's Eve (for my first time).

I am excited about EVERYTHING! Meeting new people, teaching kids and learning to be a better teacher. I hope that at the end of this year, it will be as hard to leave Edina and all the people I meet on this journey as it was to leave my home.

EDINA EDUCATION FUND

The Edina Education Fund is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to the continued academic excellence of the Edina Public Schools.

The Ed Fund secures private, supplemental funding to support valuable education experiences and innovative projects in the Edina Public Schools. Funds raised augment school system revenues that are provided by taxes, state aid, and other parent and student led fundraising efforts. The Ed Fund is necessary to help ensure the caliber of educational programs we have come to expect of the Edina Public Schools. Your support means greater academic opportunities for all students, today and into the future.

We are fortunate to be part of the Edina community that has a strong, valued and well-respected school system. However, to protect and enhance the value of our homes and property and the quality of life we enjoy, we must further invest in our public school system. Edina Education Fund contributes to the development and financial support of district-wide programs within Literacy, STEAM and Mental Health/Wellness Services for all students and staff.
