A devotional on the topic of Gifts from Bonnie Gaudet.
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

When speaking of spiritual gifts, the first thing that comes to my mind is FAITH. As a baby, my parents and grandparents made promises as I received the waters of baptism. Their faith and conviction helped my faith to grow as I grew. Looking back, there was never a time of doubt. I always knew, without question, that I was and am a child of God, always loved, and He is with me and will be forever. I've never been afraid to share my faith. Several years ago (almost 26 to be exact) I was approached to consider helping teach 6th grade Bible study as part of the confirmation program here at COS. Neva Warren begged me to give it a try just until someone else might come forward. I couldn't say no, remembering how important my Confirmation studies were to me. Well, after 25 years I can honestly say that call was both a blessing and a gift, being able to share faith and build relationships with the many sixth, seventh, and eighth graders along the way, as well as praying with them and for them. My hope is that those young people learned half as much from me as I learned from them. The spiritual gift of faith became a spiritual blessing as well. I am truly blessed!

Lord, we thank you for the Spiritual Gifts we have received. Help us to use them, share them, and to recognize and affirm the gifts in others. In your holy name we pray. AMEN
