The Lake Current - March 2023
Welcome to the March 2023 edition of our Council newsletter!

A few quick but important items up-front before we get into the news.

  • Our next regular business meeting will be this Wednesday, March 8th, starting at 7:30 p.m. Dinner for $5 will be at 6:30, as usual. All members are welcome. We will be presenting a donation to St. James parish from our Beefsteak fundraiser.

  • LAST CALL! If you have not already let WGK Tim know that you are coming to the Westchester-Putnam Chapter Awards Gala on Sunday, March 26th, please do so immediately! We'll be honoring brother Knight Harry Gorman at Mulino's at Lake Isle in Eastchester from noon to 5 p.m. The cost is $90 per person, which includes a fantastic cocktail hour, dinner, desert, wine, beer and soda. Reservations and pre-payment are absolutely required!
  • Come march behind our Council banner in Mahopac this Sunday, March 12th, in the Northern Westchester/Putnam St. Patrick's Day Parade. The Grand Marshall is our own brother Knight Pat O'Malley! As always, we will have an outstanding corned beef luncheon and reception with live entertainment at our Council after the parade. (See our flyer below.) Trollies will transport groups from in front of Dunkin' Donuts in Lake Plaza Shopping Center on Route 6 to Croton Falls Road from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. From there, each group will proceed to their respective lineup area. Our group is in Division 4, and we lineup in the Bee & Jay Plumbing parking lot.

  • Fish Fry Every Friday through March 31st: Our first two weeks of our Lenten Fish Fry Fridays have been very successful, thanks to our Fish Fry Crew, which has a bunch of new and incredibly helpful volunteers. Due to limited supplies and the need to prepare for our orders in advance, you must pre-order by Thursday night through our order website: carmelfishfry.com. No phone or walk-in orders, please! Thanks to all of our loyal customers for your continuing support!

  • Our Lounge is proud to announce the roll-out of the "Draft Beer of the Month." They will feature a special brew selection on tap each month for your quaffing pleasure. This month's special is Smithwick's Imported Premium Irish Ale. So ask for a draft “Smih-diks” next time you're in the Lounge, and enjoy a pint of Ireland's finest!
