The ScholarSHPE program helps fill the gap in the Hispanic education pipeline from high school through to successful career placement in STEM fields. For the 2021-2022 academic year, SHPE provided over $1,000,000 in scholarships.This year YOU could be one of those recipients!

SHPETINAS RESET! A VIRTUAL RETREAT
To kick off Women's History Month, SHPEtinas Reset! A Virtual Retreat to Recharge, Renew, Reflect, Reinvent will help Latinas in STEM achieve the calm and focus needed to achieve new goals and find peace in their career. Experts from Lockheed Martin will offer actionable career advice and inspiration to help attendees advance their careers without sacrificing physical or mental wellness. Register now to join us on March 1 from 2-6pm ET!

PROFESSIONAL MEMBER SPEAKERS NEEDED
Are you a passionate & motivating speaker? Whether you've been speaking at SHPE events for years or would like the chance to support fellow Familia members by leading a session, now is your chance! Please apply by February 18 to be considered for speaking opportunities at 2022 RLDCs and beyond. RLDC participation will be acknowledged as a tax-deductible, in-kind donation valued at $800.

JOIN THE GRADS MENTORING GROUP PILOT PROGRAM
The GRADS Mentoring Groups (GMG) focus on the need for Graduate & Advanced Degree Students to develop skills that can help them survive and thrive in graduate school and beyond. These mentoring groups provide a safe space to discuss professional experiences and challenges with a faculty facilitator. For the pilot, 40 participants will be split into five small groups to create meaningful relationships between facilitators and participants.

INCREASING WOMEN IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
This Friday, Brianne Martin will will speak on "The Role of Professional Societies in Increasing the Number of Women in ME" at ASME's Increasing Women in Mechanical Engineering (iWME) conference. This conference aims to examine, challenge, and discuss engineering education practices and culture as key elements in increasing the number of women in mechanical engineering.
