Roslyn Public Schools

SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS

December 16, 2021

Dear Roslyn Community,

I’m writing to inform you about a national social media threat that is presently being circulated, warning of an impending school attack tomorrow, December 17, 2021. It is the latest in a series of TikTok challenges intended to spread misbehavior and fear in American school communities.

While there have been no threats made toward the Roslyn School District, be assured that our campus security will be on full alert tomorrow. Today, Nassau County Police Department Commissioner Patrick Ryder announced that the department will be increasing its presence at school districts throughout our region tomorrow, so please do not be alarmed if you see additional district security personnel or police cars on campus.

I encourage you to take this time to speak to your children about the importance of responsible social media use and encourage them to report any suspicious activity or threatening posts to a trusted adult immediately.

Thank you for your attention and continued cooperation.

Sincerely,

Allison Brown

Superintendent of Schools
